Microsoft is expending its Office client to new users. After integrated it in Dropbox, the company has now released the Microsoft Office for Android free of cost. Which means that now you will not require any 365 subscription to access the Office app on your phone. The company also released a preview version of tablet-optimized Office for Android.
However if you have Office 365 subscription then you will receive additional benefits like unlimited OneDrive storage and more editing options. But overall it is now free to use. The Tablet version of Office is somehow similar to the previously released version for iPad, designed for large display.
This isn’t much surprising, as there are many other document managing clients available on Android free of cost. So, it was necessary for Microsoft to make its Office client free on mobile platforms. Then only it can increase its user database.
The Office for Tablet is yet to release, but those who are interested can now sign up for preview version.
